Update on Linuxtracker.org

May 9, 2013

b"We wanted to update the Linuxtracker community on what has happened over the past couple of days.\r\n\r\nIt began on Monday when we were attempting a dist-upgrade on our server. Things were going fine until we needed to reboot. The server would not come back on line. After contacting our host, it was determined that the server was End of Life (eol) and that they wanted to replace it. Seeing as how it was going on 4 years old, I suppose it was time. So we are now on a new server with better specs, more ram and a fatter pipe. If you haven't noticed, the site is currently screaming along.\r\n\r\nWe are back up and running on both the site and the tracker and everything should be functioning properly, if it is not, please email us at admin@linuxtracker.org or post in the forums.\r\n\r\nWe are in the process of evaluating other hosting options as well as a change to a new backend for the site (away from php) but that will take time to develop.\r\n\r\nWe would love for you to stop by the site and see how things are running. We're looking for more ways to improve the site (should we offer Android Rom downloads??) and more. \r\n\r\nWe had some interest in whether or not LT would/could accept bitcoins. We have an address: 162F9w8ixesFjkoHeafNZf6dGGSbsSznV1 you can use to send us coins if you would like to donate to the site that way."
