A plain-language summary of the information LinuxTracker uses to operate the site.

Public browsing

You can browse the public torrent catalog and download torrent metadata without creating an account. Like most web services, the site infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, and requested URLs for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.

Account information

If you register, LinuxTracker stores the account information needed to provide login and account features, including your username, email address, password hash, verification state, security settings, and related account metadata.

Security information

Multi-factor authentication secrets and recovery information are handled as security-sensitive account data. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than plain text. Abuse controls may store privacy-preserving hashes used for rate limiting instead of raw submitted identifiers.

Operational records

Administrative and moderation activity may be logged to maintain an audit trail and protect the integrity of the public catalog. Server logs may also be retained as needed for reliability and security.

Third-party infrastructure

LinuxTracker may rely on infrastructure providers for services such as network delivery and protection. Their systems may process request metadata as part of providing those services.

Changes

This page describes the current modernization-stage implementation and will be reviewed before the new site becomes the production LinuxTracker service.
